WARNING!: YOU MUST REQUEST A HEARING WITHIN 10 DAYS OF YOUR ARREST

If you were stopped and given a pink Notice of Suspension and Temporary License by a Police Agency, you could have your license suspended anywhere from 4 months to three years.  If you are under 21 years old or were on probation for DUI or reckless driving with alcohol terms and your test result was .01% or greater you could lose your licence for a year.  If the officer stated that you refused a chemical test the minimum license suspension without the opportunity for a restricted license is one year.  It is absolutely imperative that you request a DMV hearing within 10 days of your arrest to prevent the suspension from beginning (stayed) until a hearing is held and a decision is rendered.

At the Law Office of John R. Coniglio, Attorney at Law, in Monterey, and Santa Cruz, California, I defend clients charged with loosing their license before the DMV.  I defend clients throughout Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties, including the cities of Monterey, King City, Santa Clara, Hollister, Santa Cruz, and Salinas. Contact me today and we will request the hearing with the local DMV Driver's Safety Office on your behalf for free.  Do not go to a local DMV office.  If you were cited in Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara or San Benito Counties your case would properly be assigned to the San Jose Driver's Safety Office and the hearing should be requested with them.  Their current number is (408) 229-7100.

If you contact my office within 10 days of your arrest, I can contact the DMV on your behalf.  Contact me today if you need assistance.  If you request a hearing within 10 days the DMV must issue a stay against the suspension until a hearing is held and a decision rendered, which may take weeks or even months.
